DopaFix app: privacy policy
This policy covers the DopaFix app for Android. The DopaFix website has its own policy at https://dopafix.tools/privacy.
DopaFix is made and run by Felipe Gomes and Bianca Araujo, Dublin, Ireland, who are responsible for this app and this policy. Lyllak is the name we use for our projects. Questions about privacy: support@dopafix.tools.
The short version
- You don't need an account. We don't ask for your name, email or phone number.
- Everything you write in DopaFix stays on your phone. We never see it.
- No ads, no tracking, no analytics tools.
- One exception you choose yourself: if you turn on on-device AI, Google's ML Kit sends Google basic usage data, never what you write.
What the app stores, and where
DopaFix stores the following only on your phone, in the app's private storage:
- thoughts you capture, challenges, checklists and notes;
- focus sessions, Time Off and your pet's progress;
- answers to the optional check-in questions;
- your settings (language, theme, reminders and similar).
This data is not sent to us or anyone else, and it is not included in Android cloud backups or device-to-device transfers. It stays until you delete it.
Your controls:
- Export: Settings → Export my data (JSON) creates a file of everything, saved wherever you choose. What happens to that file after that is up to you.
- Delete: Settings → Delete everything erases all of it from the phone straight away, and so does uninstalling the app.
Voice input
If you tap Speak, DopaFix opens your phone's own speech-recognition service (on most phones, Google's). That service turns your voice into text and gives DopaFix the text only. DopaFix never gets microphone access or audio. How the speech service handles your voice is covered by its provider's privacy policy. Typing works the same, if you prefer.
On-device AI (optional, off by default)
On supported phones, you can turn on Use on-device AI for suggestions in Settings.
- Your thought is processed on the phone by Android's built-in Gemini Nano model. DopaFix does not send it anywhere.
- To run it, DopaFix uses Google's ML Kit. Once you turn this on, ML Kit sends Google basic usage data for diagnostics and usage analytics, as listed in Google's ML Kit data disclosure:
- device information (such as manufacturer, model, Android version);
- app information (such as package name and version);
- identifiers (including a per-installation identifier);
- performance metrics, error codes and configured languages.
- It never includes what you write. Google says this data is encrypted in transit and is not shared with third parties.
- While on-device AI is off, ML Kit doesn't run. If you turn it off again, ML Kit stops being used straight away and stops running completely the next time the app starts.

Permissions DopaFix asks for, and why
| Permission | Why | Your choice |
|---|---|---|
| Notifications | Focus countdown, the end-of-session alert and the optional daily reminder | You can say no; the timer still works inside the app |
| Alarms & reminders (optional) | The "Precise end alert", so the end alert arrives on time when you've left the app | Off unless you turn it on and allow it |
| Do Not Disturb access (optional) | "Silence notifications during focus" turns Do Not Disturb on and off with your session | Off unless you turn it on and allow it |
| Run at start-up | Restores a running session's alarm and your reminder after the phone restarts | Automatic; it only reschedules DopaFix's own alarms |
| Internet | Used only by Google's ML Kit when you turn on on-device AI. DopaFix's own features never go online | Not used while on-device AI is off |
DopaFix does not ask for your location, contacts, camera, microphone, photos or files.
Things DopaFix does not do
- No account, sign-in or cloud sync.
- No advertising, and no advertising identifiers.
- No analytics or crash-reporting tools inside the app.
- No selling or sharing of personal data.
Google Play crash reports: if you've allowed your phone to share usage and diagnostics with app developers, Google Play may give us aggregated crash and performance reports. These are governed by Google's own settings and policies, and we can't link them to you.
Safety messages
If something you write sounds like you may be in crisis, DopaFix shows a support message instead of suggestions. This check runs entirely on your phone. Nothing is sent, flagged or stored anywhere else.
Health
DopaFix is a self-help productivity tool. It does not diagnose, treat or cure any condition and is not a substitute for professional care.
Who the app is for
DopaFix is meant for adults (18+). It is not directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone.
Your rights (including under the GDPR)
- What we hold: your data lives on your phone and we hold none of it, so there is nothing for us to access, correct or delete on our side. You can export or delete everything yourself at any time.
- On-device AI: ML Kit's usage data is sent only after you turn on-device AI on, so you choose it, and you can turn it off again in Settings. For that data, see Google's privacy policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy).
- Contact: questions or requests go to support@dopafix.tools.
- Complaints: you can complain to a data protection authority. In Ireland that's the Data Protection Commission (https://www.dataprotection.ie); elsewhere in the EU or UK, your local authority.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update the date above and, for important changes, tell you in the app.
